No matter the type of building, Johns Manville has an insulation solution for you. From their complete line of certified Formaldehyde-free™ fiber glass building insulation to their versatile spray foam, polyiso foam board and mineral wool products. In 2002, JM was the first company in the industry with a complete line of fiber glass building insulation made without formaldehyde.

Johns Manville Has a Complete Line of Certified Formaldehyde-free™ Fiber Glass Building Insulation

Johns Manville insulation can provide homeowners with better indoor air quality and a healthier environment because it’s made without formaldehyde. Surveys consistently show that consumers prefer products made without formaldehyde when given a choice. With homeowners spending up to 90% of their time indoors, you have an important better indoor environment.

As homeowners become more concerned about energy costs, indoor air quality and “green” building techniques, using Johns Manville Formaldehyde-free™ insulation lets you enjoy these important advantages:

  • Lower energy bills
  • Better indoor air quality
  • Control moisture
  • A safer, healthier home environment
  • Superior sound control
  • Environmental satisfaction with at least 25% recycled content

JM Spider® Custom Insulation System

Johns Manville Spider® Custom Insulation comes in variable thickness levels can fill 2x4 cavities up to an R-15 thermal rating, 2x6 cavities up to R-23, and six-inch steel stud cavities up to R-25. JM Spider® insulation also reduces sound transmission, achieving a Sound Transmission Class of 43 in a standard 2x4 wood-framed wall. JM Spider® insulation resists mold because it sprays in almost dry (less moisture content than wood framing), and is treated with a U.S. EPA-registered mold inhibitor to protect the insulation against mold. JM Spider® insulation can be used for both wall and ceiling applications. In addition, only fiber glass insulation made without formaldehyde—such as JM Spider® Custom Insulation—can pass Environmental Specification 1350, the toughest indoor air quality test in North America, with a non-detect for formaldehyde.

Faced Batt & Roll Insulation ~ Faced batts and rolls are lightweight, naturally white thermal and acoustical fiberglass made of long, resilient glass fibers. In all Johns Manville faced batts and rolls, the fibers are bonded with a Formaldehyde-free™ binder, to promote better indoor air quality. The facing serves as an integral vapor retarder, reducing the potential for mold and mildew growth and making faced insulation an appropriate choice for external walls.

Unfaced Batts & Rolls ~ Johns Manville unfaced residential insulation is a lightweight; naturally white thermal and acoustical fiberglass. It is made with Formaldehyde-free™ binder for better indoor air quality. JM unfaced batts provide insulation in R-values from R-11 to R-38 and are also effective in controlling unwanted noise in internal walls

Blown-In Insulation ~ Loose-fill fiberglass insulation utilizes a professional blowing machine for installation in open spaces to fill hard-to-reach areas like corners, edges and around framing. As a premium alternative to cellulose, it does not settle or decay, and can effectively provide insulation for the life of the home. It can provide R-values from R-11 to R-60.

Johns Manville Spider® Insulation ~ JM Spider® is a Formaldehyde-free™, spray-in fiber glass insulation system that fills new and existing cavities without gaps or voids in the insulation coverage, for superior thermal and acoustical performance. Our unique design enables the fibers to more effectively fill tight spaces around pipes, wires and electrical boxes. Ideal for both retrofit and new construction, JM Spider® is naturally fire-resistant and does not promote the growth of mold and mildew. The insulation also installs faster and easier and does not settle over time.
Poly-Encapsulated Insulation ~ Johns Manville Poly-Encapsulated insulation is wrapped in plastic for a more comfortable installation with less itch and dust. Its core is a naturally white, Formaldehyde-free™ fiber glass insulation with R-values up to R-38 and superior acoustic properties to reduce sound transmission through interior and exterior walls, ceilings and floors.

Blown-In-Blanket System ~ BIBS

If you want your insulation to achieve higher R-Values; provide a uniform density; eliminate settling and shifting; and fill costly air gaps, voids, and seams … look no further. The BIBS® system uses the same blown fiberglass you have known and trusted for years. The unique system blows fiberglass into place behind fiber netting. Once BIBS® is installed, no maintenance is required. The chart below shows to R-value comparison between BIBS and traditional batts. Please visit our BIBCA site at www.pisgah.bibca.org for more information.
